Coral Beach has been my hang out this summer. I am loving all my weddings there this year. Every single one has been stunning. I loved Natasha and David’s for so many reasons. It went off without a hitch after soooooo much planning. It was a beautiful day and evening and everyone soaked up the ambiance. This wedding had great energy and was great fun. The guys literally did whatever I asked of them and they sure had fun doing it. We did some silly and crazy things and they cracked me up. Natasha and the girls were beyond gorgeous; Natasha was flawless. I have to say, these were my all time favorite bridesmaid’s dresses and I would even love to have one for myself. It was very difficult to choose just a few shots for the blog because there were so many beautiful moments and details. I know that Natasha and David will have a wonderful marriage because they laugh together and can be silly together. All the best to you two and your new family!!
“Family is a little world created by love”…. isn’t that a great quote? This time of year, I get to meet families from all over the world who visit Bermuda. I am privileged to be able to create memories for so many families. It is a beautiful thing to see all the generations come together for a portrait that I know will be seen by many generations to come.
Yesterday I was shooting an engagement session at Grape Bay, my favorite beach. I was getting ready to go when I spotted my good friend and landscape artist extraordinaire, Gavin Howarth, scoping out the terrain with all his fancy gear. I went over to say hi and chat for a bit before I decided to go. As I was walking away, I was looking at the beautiful light that was hitting the beach and I realized that I had a great opportunity to stay and catch something that could be quite spectacular. Not to mention, I could put my new camera to the test. Thank God I stayed! Grape Bay never disappoints. What transformed before our eyes was more than spectacular and so cool to watch. Watching a storm come across the horizon is one of my most favorite things to do in Bermuda. We stayed until the last second and ended up getting drenched as we ran for our cars. I was right, Gavin, it WAS coming our way!
I was really looking forward to Kathleen and John’s Coral Beach wedding because I love the venue so much. It sits on the cliff over looking the sea and is a perfect setting for a wedding. The staff goes above and beyond and it makes for a great day. Kathleen and John were very laid back and just plain happy to be getting married. The weather cooperated and gave us sunshine and low humidity. I loved the traditions that they incorporated into their reception. Kathleen’s step-dad Ed did a handfasting ceremony in which he tied their hands together and then he later got out his bag pipes and piped everyone into dinner. Congratulations to a great couple!
I love, love, love this shoot!!! I had so much fun shooting it. Trash the Dress sessions really are a blast…at least for me…I don’t have to get wet. This one was a very cold one too. The water is still quite chilly and Leanne was such a sport. I don’t think she said no to anything I asked her to do. The things I make my clients do… You go girl!
Leanne and John were married in Bermuda a year ago and for their anniversary they came back on a cruise to do a Trash the Dress session. They are an adorable couple. John was not a big fan of the cold water until he got to splash Leanne and then he got very into it. Hence the ear to ear grin. As always, Grape Bay showed me it’s magic light…. pictures can’t even capture the beauty of Grape Bay. Check out the spotlight when they are standing on the rocks! Incredible! I love the changing colors of the light and the uber softness at the end of the day.
Thank you to Leanne and John for being such great models and happy anniversary!!
