Bucket List Check Off

I had an amazing opportunity this summer to check an item off of my bucket list.  I have ALWAYS wanted to shoot an Indian wedding but thought it would never happen once I moved to Bermuda.  Thanks to Bella and Kevin, I got my wish.  I dare say it was the most beautiful wedding I have ever been a part of and so very special. The Hindu ceremony incorporated so many interesting parts having to do with the natural world around us.  The groom walks in first and has his time and then the bride is invited in later.  The parents are a part of the entire ceremony and there are so many gorgeous details and colors.  It was a photographer’s dream. Sadly, it rained the entire day so we did not get to spend much time outside but we made the most of it.  The three-day event included a henna night (I ADORED the henna!), rehearsal dinner with a blue theme, several outfit changes and Bella and Jane West did such an amazing job with all the details.  They even had “Bollywood” Dancers!  It is a day I will never forget and I am so grateful to be involved with.  I can’t wait to photograph the beautiful babies Bella and Kevin will have one day (no rush!)…maybe covered in henna!  Congratulations to a very special couple! xx

We had such a fun time re-living the memories through our photographs. You did a great job covering all of the aspects of our special weekend and I know it was A LOT of work! We’re so glad your wish cam true to photograph a Hindu wedding in Bermuda (and I think the rain actually made this even more special!) Thanks so much:)

Love is Love

“Be the change you want to see in the world” -Mahatma Gandhi

Over the summer I was honored to shoot a church blessing of a local gay couple, Adrian and Shane.  I got to know their story during the engagement session and first meeting and couldn’t wait to be a part of their very special day.  They are what true love is all about.  Bermuda does not yet allow same-sex marriage, so they got married in NYC prior to the celebration in Bermuda.  They had to apply to have their service in the church Adrian’s family had been members of for generations.  I had tears in my eyes throughout the day knowing what they had to go through to become a couple.  Thankfully the weather was perfect and the day could not have been better.

The wedding was picked up recently by EQL Wedding Magazine and then today featured in a Royal Gazette Article.  This is very timely as same-sex marriage is being very heavily debated in Bermuda right now.  My hope is that in featuring this wedding, it will be one more small step towards change.

Bermuda’s Beautiful Children

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you are having a wonderful day!  I had to share some of my nursery school friends with you.  Bermuda has the most gorgeous children.  They are so much fun to photograph.  I especially love the ones that won’t smile at first and when I finally get them to smile then their personality takes over and they shine.  It must be comical to watch me try to get smiles out of some of these kiddos.  I have to partake in some silly shenanigans.  I am hoping to pick up some more schools this year so please let me know if your child’s school does not yet have a photographer.  I do a free consultation/walk through and the session is also no charge to the school.

Fall Wedding In Vermont

I could not pass up a chance to blog this beautiful wedding I had the privilege of shooting.   It has always been on my “bucket list” to photograph the leaves changing and up until this point I never had.  When Vikki asked me to shoot her wedding in Vermont I was thrilled.  Vermont did not disappoint and neither did the wedding!  It turned out to be absolutely perfect.  It was a gorgeous day overlooking the hills at The Mountain Top Inn and Resort .  Vikki and Toney were so easy going and really enjoyed their day with all their closest friends and family gathered.  I love a bride who will trounce around in the woods!  And in cowboy boots no less!  Thank you guys so much for choosing me to be your photographer and helping me to realize one of my dreams.  Congratulations!

Family Photo Day at Urban Cottage

I decided to do a blog post today to see if I even remembered how to use my blog!  Yikes, it has been a while.  I have been a busy girl.  I wanted to share a shoot I did recently at Urban Cottage.  Urban Cottage is an adorable vintage store here in Bermuda.  I fell in love with it and had an idea to do a photo shoot there.  The owner, Nicole, graciously allowed me to do so.  She set up a living room scene and the store is the perfect back drop for a family session.  This was our first run at it to get our feet wet with the hopes of doing more joint ventures, especially around the holidays.  So if you missed out on this one, stay tuned to my Facebook Page for the next one.  Nicole, you are so uber creative and your shop is like a work of art.   I thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to use your space.  I look forward to many more  events in the future!

Would love to come and visit next time I come to Bermuda. My daughter lives there with her husband and family. She has lived there for at least 22yrs. Your store looks great. I’m sure my daughter will see you on Face Book.
