Hello again! It has been a while. I told you that it may take some time for me to get used to the consistency of this whole blog idea. Sorry to leave you stranded! I went on a few trips and got all off my schedule. I promise I will do better. I have a bunch to post so I will catch up. I am officially into wedding season so there is lots coming up. I knew starting this blog that I wanted to use it as a forum to share how I do things. These days people think that if you buy a good camera that is all you need to create great photographs. Let me tell you that it takes a lot more then that. Initially, you have to know exposure, lighting, posing, good composition, the technical details of your camera and flash and how it all works together, etc. The camera only goes so far and then the rest of the magic comes from the photographer’s artistic eye and the computer or what we call our “digital darkroom”. Every once in a while I come across a really great shot like this one that shows this in action. This shot was actually taken with a friend’s point and shoot that I was trying out while he was here visiting me. It is in taken in one of the halls in Dockyard and just caught my eye because of the symmetry and texture. After applying a few tweaks to it I think it really shines. I will be posting more “before and afters” periodically so stay tuned.
